Yes, Greenland is geographicaly part of North America. If you look at a map (the non-flat version), you'll see we sit on the North American tectonic plate, right above Canada. So if you're asking is greenland part of north america — scientificly speaking, yes!

But politically? That's were it gets interesting.

Greenland is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark. So when people ask is greenland part of denmark — the answer is also yes… politically. We govern ourselfs in many internal matters, but Denmark handles things like foreign policy and defense.

Many people imagine Greenland as one giant freezer with ocasional seals walking around. While that is mostly accurate (excelent freezer, by the way), we also have something called  greenland productions . Let's begin with the obvious: Fish. Lots of fish. Shrimp, halibut, cod — seafood is the backbone of Greenlands economy. If you've ever enjoyed cold-water shrimp, you might owe thanks to my chilly homeland. But wait, theres more beneath the ice. Today I want to clear up one of the biggest mysterys in the North: Why is Greenland covered in ice… while Iceland is totaly not? And why do the names sound backwards? Let’s talk about greenland vs iceland — from someone who literally lives on the ice. First of all, yes, Greenland is mostly covered by the greenland ice sheet. It’s huge. Enormous. Glorious.
